Artist Message
With subject matters ranging from children/teens to business and editorial, Pollak's technique combines collage, digital painting, scanned textures and found objects to create unusual visual stories. Barbara's work has been featured in such publications as: Business 2.0, Continental, Fortune, Time For Kids, The Washington Post, The Utne Reader, Scholastic and Girl's Life among other places. Barbara has illustrated the puberty book, "Girl Stuff" for Harcourt Brace/Gulliver Books, book series for Penguin Putnam/Grosset & Dunlap and Lerner. She recently authored and illustrated her first picture book, "Our Community Garden". Barbara Pollak lives in San Francisco with her crazy little family. |
